WE WILL REMEMBER 2020! - a note from Pastor Dan
Future generations will talk about the year 2020.
People still talk about the “Roaring 20’s” the “Great Depression” and “911”. My prediction is that for years to come, you will hear references to what happened in 2020 and what we learned living through such “unprecedented times”.
Looking back on 2020, there are two statements that have anchored my soul through the chaos, confusion, conflict, and change. Both statements were made by Jesus Christ.
- “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18)
Nothing will stop Jesus from adding to his church, people from “every tribe, tongue and nation”. For the past 2,000 years, the church has prevailed despite government opposition, persecution, poverty, pandemics and the “gates of hell”.
- “I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20)
Jesus sustains his Body and cares for his Bride. He promised to “never leave us or forsake us” and “nothing will separate us from his love”. Every church that is committed to “making disciples” is assured that Jesus is with you…to the end of the age!
You can take Jesus at his word! This is what I want to remember about 2020 and what gives me hope and confidence moving forward into 2021. We love and serve a “forward facing God”! Keep looking to the future…and the return of the “Alpha and Omega”.
